Paul Signorelli has a lifelong love of education and workplace learning and performance. With more than 20 years of experience as a writer, trainer, and consultant for libraries, nonprofit organizations,educational organizations, and, most recently, health care agencies in the United States and abroad, he has served as Director of Volunteer Services and Staff Training for the San Francisco Public Library system; co-wrote Workplace Learning & Leadership: A Handbook for Library and Nonprofit Trainers with fellow ALA Learning blog colleague Lori Reed for ALA Editions; and has written for a variety of newspapers and magazines, including the e-Learning Guild’s Learning Solutions Magazine and American Libraries. He continues to write online courses for ALA Editions and LE@D through the University of North Texas, and also prepares and presents webinars and other learning opportunities for a variety of clients and colleagues. He earned his MLIS through the University of North Texas online program. Paul’s current volunteer work includes a second two-year term (July 2011 – June 2013) on the American Libraries magazine Advisory Committee; a three-year term on ASTD’s National Advisors for Chapters (Jan. 2011-December 2013); membership on the New Media Consortium’s 2011 Horizon Report Advisory Board; developing and co-facilitating a quarterly Trainers as Business Leaders special interest group for the ASTD Mt. Diablo Chapter (San Francisco East Bay Area); and his role as co-chair of the Hidden Garden Steps project in San Francisco’s Inner Sunset district.
