Maurice Coleman
Maurice Coleman (aka baldgeekinmd) is the Technical Trainer at Harford County (MD) Public Library located in the North Eastern corner of Maryland.
His job is to help HCPL staff leverage new and existing tools and technologies in an innovative library system to provide superlative customer service. He also delivers group and individual training in a variety of areas to library staff; fosters communication between geeks and non-geeks and helps Maryland State library systems use technology to move library service into the future with an eye on customer value and service.
He has over 15 years of training experience helping people of all ages use technology in the real world, hardware and software program training, technology planning and deployment, nonprofit organizational development and fundraising, community organizing and presentation skills.
He has presented at various conferences on social networking, technology and community development issues; designed and delivered Library Associate Training for Minnesota; co-created one of the first Technology Petting Zoo’s in the country and Maryland Learning 2.1 program to foster technology understanding for public library staff throughout the state.
He is the host of the Library Training podcast called T is for Training and he semi-actively blogs at The Chronicles of the (almost) Bald Technology Trainer. You can follow daily “what’s going on” via his twitter or friendfeed streams.
